Chocolate Bourbon Pie
- 12 whole Egg Yolks
- 2-1/2 cups Sugar
- 3 sticks Butter, Melted And Cooled
- 4 ounces, fluid Southern Comfort Or Other Bourbon
- 3/4 cups Flour
- 3 cups Pecans, Chopped
- 3 cups Chocolate Chips
- 2 whole 9" Pie Crusts, Store Bought Or Homemade
- Preheat oven to 325F.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat egg yolks until pale yellow. Add sugar and beat well. Add butter and mix so sugar begins to dissolve. Add bourbon and incorporate well. Mix in flour until thoroughly combined, then mix in the pecans and chocolate chips.
- Divide mixture between two 9" pie crusts. Bake at least 45 minutes or until only a few crumbs stick to your toothpick.
- (I recommend Alton Brown's pie crust recipe. I promise making your own pie crust is easy, and worth it!)
