Marble Cake
- 3 3/4 c. regular flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- dash of salt, mixed with flour
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 lb. butter or margarine
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 tsp. rum extract
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa, mixed with 3 Tbsp. sugar and 3 Tbsp. milk
- Cream butter well.
- Add sugar, a little at a time.
- Add egg yolks, one at a time.
- Add vanilla; beat until very fluffy.
- Add rum.
- Beat again.
- Slowly add flour and milk, alternately, a little at a time until all used up.
- Beat egg whites until very fluffy and fold into other mixture.
- Put 2/3 of mixture into greased baking pan (Bundt).
- To the remaining 1/3 of mixture, add the cocoa mixture and put it on top of the other mixture in the baking pan.
- With a fork or spoon, make marble design.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 1 1/4 hours.
