Simple Southern Watermelon Lemonade

  1. For the simple syrup, heat sugar and water in a small saucepan on low until sugar is dissolved completely. The sugar will go from cloudy to clear once it is dissolved.
  2. For the watermelon lemonade, add cold water to a pitcher. Pour the simple syrup into the pitcher. Add freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  3. Puree the watermelon in a food processor or blender. Strain the watermelon puree with a fine mesh. You should be left with 4 cups of watermelon juice.
  4. Add the watermelon juice to the pitcher. Break up mint leaves and add to the pitcher. Stir well and enjoy or refrigerate.
