Legendary Fudge Pie
- 9 Inch Pie Crust (store Bought Or Your Favorite Recipe)
- 2 cups Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 8 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 cup Butter, Melted
- 4 whole Eggs
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Partially bake the pie crust for 5 minutes according to package (or your recipe) instructions.
- Whisk together the sugar, flour, salt and cocoa powder in medium mixing bowl. Blend in melted butter. Add the eggs and vanilla and stir until well blended. Pour into the pie crust and bake 45 minutes.
- The filling will be soft in the center but not runny; do not overbake, as it will set up some as it cools. If crust gets too brown, cover with a pie shield or aluminum foil.
- Allow to cool to room temperature (this allows the fudge to set up.)
- I think it is best served warmed. I micowave a slice for about 20 seconds on high.
- Top with your choice of ice cream, fudge sauce, whipped cream, nuts and cherries.
