Old-Fashioned Oatmeal Lace Cookies (One-Bowl)
- 1 cup Butter, Softened
- 2 cups Raw Sugar
- 2 whole Eggs
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla
- 1-1/4 cup Flour
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cloves
- 1/2 teaspoons Allspice
- 3 cups Old Fashioned Oats
- Powdered Sugar For Dusting, If Desired
- *I like to use raw sugar, but if you'd rather use regular, use 1 cup white and 1 cup brown sugar to equal two cups...
- Blend the butter and sugars together. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Measure and add the flour and spices in the order listed right over the top of the creamed mixture. Give them a quick stir with a fork to combine the dry ingredients on top before beating them into the creamed mixture. Stir in oats.
- Drop by cookie-scoop-fuls onto a cookie sheet at least 2" apart (these spread!). Bake 350F for 10 minutes. Do not over-bake...edges should be barely golden. Let sit on cookie sheet 5-10 minutes after removing from the oven, then remove to wire rack and cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, for the lace-effect.
- Store in an airtight container if there are any left... Since they smell sooo good, you can't keep it a secret that you've been baking.
