Skillet Apple Walnut Tart
- FOR THE FILLING:
- 4 Tablespoons Butter
- 4 whole Medium Apples, Peeled, Cored And Chopped
- 1 whole Small Lemon, Zest Only
- 2/3 cups Raisins
- 1 cup Chopped Walnuts
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Honey Or Maple Syrup
- 2 Tablespoons Apple Brandy Or Apple Juice
- 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

- FOR THE CRUST:
- 1 whole 10 Inch Pie Crust
- 1-1/2 Tablespoon Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon Melted Butter
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- For the filling, in a 10-inch ovenproof skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add apples and lemon zest and cook for 5 minutes until apples begin to soften. Remove from heat and stir in raisins, walnuts, cinnamon, brown sugar, honey, brandy and vanilla.
- Lay crust on top of the filling in the skillet.
- In a small bowl combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon (for the crust). Brush the crust with melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar.
- Bake for 30 - 35 minutes until crust is golden brown.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes then turn out onto a large platter, or if you prefer you can serve it directly from the skillet!
- If any of the filling sticks to the skillet when turning it onto the platter, just scrape it out of the pan and put it back in place on the tart.
