Sugarplum Cookies

  1. Heat
  2. oven to 375u0b0.
  3. In a large bowl, blend shortening, granulated
  4. sugar, egg, flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla on low
  5. speed.
  6. (Two to 3 tablespoons of milk may be added if necessary).
  7. Using
  8. 1
  9. level
  10. teaspoonful
  11. of
  12. dough for each, shape
  13. into
  14. ball around a cherry piece.
  15. Place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
  16. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
  17. Cool. Dip top
  18. of each cookie into glaze.
  19. Roll cookie in decorator sugar. Makes 7 to 8 dozen.
