Cheese And Jerky Bread
- 4 tablespoons, 2-7/8 pinches Butter
- 8 tablespoons, 1 teaspoon, 5-7/8 pinches Chopped Onions
- 1 pound, 1-2/3 ounces, weight Self Raising Flour
- 1 cup, 9 tablespoons, 1 teaspoon, 1-1/3 pinches Grated Cheese
- 1 cup, 2-2/3 teaspoons, 7/8 pinches Finely Chopped Or Powdered Jerky (or Biltong If You Can Get Any)
- 1 bottle (12 Oz. Bottle) Beer (any Type You Fancy)
- Preheat the oven to 180u0b0C.
- Melt the butter in a smallish to medium-sized ovenproof skillet and brown the onions. Set aside.
- Mix the flour, 250 ml of the grated cheese, jerky (or biltong) and the onions.
- Add the beer and mix well.
- Divide dough into 8 equal portions and roll into balls.
- Place balls alongside each other in the skillet.
- Cover with the rest of the grated cheese.
- Bake in the oven for 45 - 50 minutes until done.
- You can also bake this as a loaf in a conventional loaf tin.
