Stovetop Apple Crisp
- 2-1/2 Tablespoons Butter, Divided
- 3 cups Chunks Of Peeled Apples (Gala Work Well), About 1/2 Inch In Size
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 4 teaspoons Dark Brown Sugar, Divided
- 1/4 cups Rolled Oats
- 1/4 cups Chopped Walnuts Or Pecans
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Sesame Seeds
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet. Add apples, cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of dark brown sugar. Stir until well combined. Put lid on and let apples cook on medium to medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until they are soft but still maintain their shape, about 7 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine remaining sugar, oats, walnuts and sesame seeds. Mix well.
- In a small nonstick pan, melt remaining butter Add walnut mix and brown for a few minutes until crunchy. Do this on relatively low heat and watch closely, it will burn easily.
- Serve apples in a bowl and sprinkle the topping on.
