Sauerkraut Cake Surprise

  1. Cream butter and sugar until light; beat in eggs, one at a time.
  2. Add vanilla.
  3. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream and water, beating after each addition.
  4. Stir in sauerkraut and chopped nuts.
  5. Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  6. Bake in 350u0b0 oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
  7. Cool in pan.
  8. Frost with favorite chocolate frosting.
