Sour Cream Apple Pie
- FOR THE PIE:
- 1 whole Pie Crust (Homemade Or Store Bought)
- 1-1/4 cup Sour Cream
- 3/4 cups Sugar
- 1/4 cups Flour
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla
- 1 whole Egg
- 6 cups Apples, Sliced And Peeled
- FOR THE TOPPING:
- 1/2 cups Flour
- 1/4 cups Sugar
- 1/4 cups Light Brown Sugar, Packed
- 1/2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 3 Tablespoons Cold Butter
- Heat oven to 400F. Prepare pie crust and place in pie pan.
- In a large bowl, beat sour cream, sugar, flour, salt, vanilla and egg with a wire whisk until well blended. Stir in apples. Pour into crust-lined pie pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350F and bake for 30 more minutes.
- In a medium bowl, mix all topping ingredients except the butter (flour, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt). With a fork, cut in the butter until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Sprinkle topping over pie. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes longer or until topping is golden brown.
- Cool completely on a cooking rack, around 2 hours. Cover and refrigerate.
