Sour Cream Apple Pie
- FOR THE PIE:
- 2 Tablespoons Flour
- 3/4 cups Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 1 whole Egg, Slightly Beaten
- 1 cup Sour Cream
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 2 cups Very Thinly Sliced Apples, Gala Or Golden Delicious Work Well
- 1 whole 9 Inch Unbaked Pastry Shell

- FOR THE CRUMB TOPPING:
- 1/2 cups Sugar
- 1/3 cups Flour
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/4 cups Melted Butter
- Sift dry ingredients into large bowl. Stir in beaten egg, sour cream and vanilla. Fold in apples. Spoon into pastry shell.
- Bake at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes. Lower heat to 350 degrees F; bake 30 minutes longer.
- While pie bakes, prepare crumb topping: mix 1/2 cup sugar, 1/3 cup flour, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon and 1/4 cup melted butter in a small bowl until crumbly.
- Remove pie from oven when you've completed the above baking steps. Then reset oven to 400 degrees F. Sprinkle pie with topping mixture and return pie to oven. Bake 10 minutes longer.
- Cool on wire rack. Serve slightly warm or at room temperature.
