Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Bars

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream shortening, 3/4 c. sugar and brown sugar.
  2. Beat in
  3. 1 egg and 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla.
  4. Combine dry ingredients, add to creamed mixture and mix well.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
  6. Set aside one third of the mixture for topping.
  7. Press remaining dough in a greased 9 inch x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes.
  8. In small bowl, beat cream cheese and 3/4 c. sugar until smooth.
  9. Add 2 eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla.
  10. Mix well.
  11. Spoon over crust.
  12. Drop spoonfuls of topping over filling.
  13. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until golden brown.
  14. Cool, cut into bars and store in refrigerator.
