S’Mores Rice Crispy Treats
- 2 cups Mini Marshmallows
- 2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 1 pinch Salt
- 2 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
- 2 whole Graham Cracker Sheets (4 Small Rectangles Per Sheet)
- 1/3 cups Chocolate Chunks (or Chips)
- 9 whole Large Marshmallows
- In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the mini marshmallows, butter and salt. Warm over medium heat until everything melts into a smooth sauce. Stir often. Stir in the Rice Krispies, and remove from the heat.
- Layer the graham crackers at the bottom of a 9x5x3" pan. Press the Rice Krispies mixture on top of the crackers.
- In order to prevent melting the chocolate too much, I studded the Rice Krispie mixture with the chocolate chunks after it was already in the pan. It was just for aesthetics...do what you like. Otherwise, you can stir the chocolate chunks into the Rice Krispies before pressing the mixture into the pan.
- Press the Rice Krispie mixture flat onto the graham crackers. Next, snip the large marshmallows in half and dot them over the top. Broil the marshmallows until brown (about 4 minutes), or use a culinary torch.
