Scripture Cake

  1. Cream butter.
  2. Gradually add sugar and beat until light.
  3. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating after each addition.
  4. Beat in honey.
  5. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk and beat only until smooth (if butter flavoring is used, add to milk).
  6. Stir in nuts and fruits.
  7. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold it.
  8. Pour into loaf pan (9 x 5 x 3-inch), lined with wax paper.
  9. Bake in preheated moderate oven (350u0b0) for one hour, or until done.
  10. Cool cake in the pan for 5 minutes, then turn cake out on a rack and gently peel off paper.
  11. Turn cake right side up to cool.
  12. Serve plain or frosted.
