Banana Nut Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda and spices; set aside.
  3. In separate bowl, combine sour milk (lemon juice should make the milk curdle), mashed bananas and nuts; set aside.
  4. Now cream together the shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  5. Alternately add dry ingredients and sour milk mixture to the creamed mixture; mix well.
  6. Pour batter into greased and floured loaf pans (2).
  7. Bake 45 to 50 minutes.
