Cookies In A Jar
- FOR THE JAR MIX:
- 1-1/2 cup Flour
- 1/4 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 1 dash Salt
- 3/4 cups Brown Sugar
- 1 cup White Chocolate Chips
- 1 cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
- FOR THE COOKIES:
- 3/4 cups Butter
- 1 whole Egg
- 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla
- Note you will also need a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar with lid and ring, as well as decoration supplies.
- For the jar mix:
- Layer the first 6 ingredients in a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar in the order listed above. Seal jar and cover lid with a square of fabric (optional). Attach label with the below instructions on it with raffia or string.
- To make cookies:
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0F.
- In a large bowl using an electric mixer beat butter until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla (mixture may appear curdled at this point).
- Pour cookie mix into a separate bowl and stir well. Add it into the butter mixture until well blended.
- Drop cookie dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 3 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven. Cool for 2 minutes on the cookie sheet. Remove to wire racks and cool completely.
