Heart Shaped Candy Coated Brownies
- FOR THE BROWNIES:
- 1 cup Butter Or Margarine
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 4 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa (heaping)
- 2 cups Granulated Sugar
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 4 whole Eggs
- 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1-1/2 cup All-purpose Flour

- FOR THE TOPPING OR COATING:
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1 cup White Chocolate Chips
- 1 cup Colored Candies Such As M&Ms, Chopped
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9 x 13 pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving a 2-inch overhang at each end for easy removal later.
- 2. In a large pot, melt butter on medium low heat. Generously grease foil or parchment paper using 1-2 tablespoons of butter and a pastry brush. Set aside.
- 3. Place the pot back on heat and add in chocolate chips and cocoa powder.
- 4. Stir until completely melted. Take off heat.
- 5. Stir in sugar.
- 6. Stir in vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time. Whip vigorously after each egg addition.
- 7. Carefully stir in salt, baking powder and flour until just combined. Pour into the prepared baking dish. Smooth the top and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- 8. Cool for at least 15 minutes before removing with foil or parchment paper.
- 9. While brownies are cooling, melt white and semi sweet chocolate chips in two separate double boilers or in the microwave.
- 10. Using different shaped cookie cutters, cut out brownie shapes.
- 11. To decorate, dip or spread chocolate over the brownies and coat with chopped candies. Place on waxed paper or a cooling rack to dry/cool completely.
