Chocolate Chili
- 4 Tablespoons Peanut Oil
- 1/2 whole Yellow Onion, Finely Chopped
- 2 Tablespoons Garlic, Minced
- 2-1/2 pounds Lean Ground Beef
- 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 4 Tablespoons Chili Powder
- 1 can (6 Oz. Can) Tomato Paste
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1/2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- 1 cup Chicken Stock
- 1 bottle (12 Oz. Bottle) Beer
- 4 Tablespoons Cornmeal
- 1 can (10-14 Oz. Can) Diced Tomatoes With Green Chiles
- 1 can (15 Oz. Can) Black Beans, Drained
- 2 ounces, weight Semi-sweet Chocolate Morsels
- Saute onions in 3-4 tablespoons peanut oil over low heat until the onions are very soft. Add garlic and saute for 1-2 more minutes. Increase heat to medium. Add ground beef, cooking until brown. Add in cinnamon, chili powder, and tomato paste. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Add in oregano through diced tomatoes. Cook for 5 minutes. Add in black beans, reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour. Add in chocolate during last 10-20 minutes of cooking time.
