Strawberry Basil Gin & Tonic
- FOR THE SIMPLE SYRUP:
- 3/4 pounds Strawberries, Washed And Trimmed
- 1/4 cups Sugar
- 1/4 cups Water
- 4 whole Large Basil Leaves
- FOR THE COCKTAIL:
- 2 Tablespoons Strawberry Basil Simple Syrup
- 4 ounces, fluid Chilled Gin
- 6 ounces, fluid Chilled Tonic Water
- In a large saucepan, combine the strawberries with the sugar and water. Bring the mixture to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to thicken a bit, about 15 minutes. Remove pan from heat, stir in the basil and let the mixture cool completely, about 1 hour.
- Then, using a fine strainer, strain the strawberry mixture into a bowl to extract the syrup.
- Pour 2 tablespoons of the strawberry basil syrup into a large tumbler along with the gin and tonic water. Mix well, pour into a glass and enjoy!
