Strawberry Cream Scones

  1. 1. In the bowl of a food processor, combine the flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and baking powder.
  2. 2. Pulse in the cold butter until crumbly.
  3. 3. In a separate bowl, combine the egg and cream.
  4. 4. Pulse in the cream mixture until you have a smooth, wet dough.
  5. 5. Transfer to a floured surface and lightly form into a disc.
  6. 6. Cut the disc into wedges or cut out circles with a cookie cutter.
  7. 7. Gently slice each scone through the center with a floured knife.
  8. 8. Put a few slices of the strawberry in the center. Replace the top on the scone and lightly pinch the sides closed.
  9. 9. Brush the tablespoon of cream on the tops of the scones.
  10. 10. Bake at 400u0b0F for 12 minutes.
  11. 11. Take the scones out of the oven and set them aside to cool slightly while you make the strawberry glaze.
  12. 12. In a small bowl whisk together the strawberry, powdered sugar and cream until you have a smooth glaze.
  13. 13. Pour 1 tablespoon of glaze over the top of each scone. Let set up and serve warm.
