Pork Chops And Sauerkraut
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 4 pork chops, cut 1-inch thick (about 2 lb.)
- salt and pepper
- 1/2 c. thinly sliced onions
- 1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut, undrained
- 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
- 1 tart apple, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 1/2 c. water
- In a heat-resistant, non metallic skillet, heat oil on a conventional surface until hot.
- Sear pork chops on both sides until browned.
- Sprinkle chops lightly with salt and pepper to taste.
- Arrange onion and sauerkraut over pork chops.
- Heat, covered, on simmer for 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle caraway seed over sauerkraut and arrange apple slices on top.
- Add water and heat, covered, on simmer for 10 minutes.
- Heat, uncovered, on simmer for 10 minutes or until chops are tender.
- Pork should always be cooked well done.
