Apple Chutney With Ginger, Walnuts And Raisins
- 3 whole Apples Or Pears, Peeled And Cored
- 1 piece (2 In. Size) Fresh Ginger
- 1 whole Red Chili, Stem And Seeds Removed
- 1/3 cups Maple Syrup
- 1/2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
- 1 whole Orange, Zest And Juice
- 1/2 cups Walnuts
- 1/3 cups Raisins
- Cut the apple/pear and ginger into fine pieces. Thinly slice the chili.
- Mix chili, ginger, syrup, cinnamon, orange juice and zest in a saucepan and heat until it is boiling. Add the apples/pears and bring to a boil again. Add walnuts and raisins, and boil for about 5 minutes. Pour into a glass with a tight fitting lid and cool completely. (It will thicken up a bit when cooled down.)
- Store in the fridge for a few weeks.
- Serve with home baked baguettes, artisan bread and lots of wonderful cheeses. Yum! Enjoy!
