Fresh Apple Nut Cake
- 1-1/2 cup Oil
- 3 whole Eggs
- 2 cups White Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla
- 3 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 3 cups Peeled, Diced Apples (You Can Use Pears)
- 1 cup Nuts
- 1 stick Butter Or Margarine
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cups Milk
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together oil, eggs, white sugar, and vanilla. Mix together flour, soda, and salt in a separate bowl and then mix with the creamed mixture. Fold in apples and nuts. Pour into a tube pan and bake for 1 hour. About 5-10 minutes before cake is done, combine butter, brown sugar, and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil for 2 1/2 minutes. Poke holes in the hot cake and pour the brown sugar mixture over the cake. Let the cake cool for 15 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
