Holiday Grillin’ Time Hot Dog Chili Sauce
- 8 ounces, weight Ground Beef (90/10 Meat To Fat Ratio)
- 1 cup Low Sodium Beef Broth
- 1-1/2 Tablespoon Chili Powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 2 dashes Allspice
- 10 ounces, fluid Canned Tomato Sauce
- 8 Hot Dogs
- 8 Hot Dog Buns
- Your Desired Condiments, To Serve
- In a large skillet over medium-low heat add lean ground beef and break it up as it starts to cook. Add beef broth (yes, before it browns), chili powder, onion salt and black pepper, allspice and stir to combine. Increase heat to medium, add tomato sauce and stir again to combine and continue to break up ground beef as it cooks. Increase temperature to medium-high and cook 15 minutes, stirring frequently. (I usually cover the skillet with a lid and stire every few minutes.)
- Grill hot dogs and toast rolls/buns, then assemble them and top with this delicious chili sauce. You'll be hooked! Enjoy!
- You can add any condiments you like: cheese, diced onions, mustard, mayonnaise, hot sauce, ketchup, relish, cabbage/radish slaw, pickles, etc.
