Joan'S Homemade Soup
- 2 lb. beef shank
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 can cream of celery soup
- 1 lb. carrots, cut up
- 3 large potatoes, cut up
- 2 sweet potatoes, cut up
- 2 green plantains, cut up
- 2 blades green onions, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- water
- 1 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- Cut meat in small pieces and cook in water with salt, pepper, onion and green onions.
- (I like to cook mine in a pressure cooker.)
- When nearly cooked, add carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, plantains and celery soup.
- Continue cooking, adding water if needed to cover vegetables.
