Layered Banana Pineapple Dessert
- 1 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. margarine, melted
- 3 bananas, sliced
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 3 1/2 c. cold milk
- 2 pkg. (4 oz.) vanilla instant pudding
- 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 (8 oz.) tub nondairy whipped topping
- 8 Tbsp. melted butter
- 12 slices bread, toasted
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1 lb. Longhorn cheese
- 1 1/4 c. brown sugar or 3 small piloncillo loaves
- 2 c. hot water
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 3 to 4 sliced bananas (optional)
- Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
- Dip toasted bread in butter.
- Alternate layers of bread with the raisins, cheese, nuts and bananas in baking dish.
- It is not necessary to remove the crust from the bread except for appearance's sake, so I suggest you remove them only when you want to be fancy!
