Sugar And Spice Pecans
- 4 cups Pecan Halves
- 2 teaspoons Safflower Oil
- 6 Tablespoons Brown Sugar, Firmly Packed
- 4 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Allspice
- 1 teaspoon Cloves
- 1. To toast the pecans, preheat the oven to 350u0b0F. Spread the nuts out on a rimmed baking sheet and toast until the nuts are lightly browned. Remove them from the oven and transfer to a large plate.
- 2. In a large pan, heat the safflower oil. When the oil is heated, add the nuts, stirring them so they are coated with the safflower oil.
- 3. Add the brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, cinnamon, allspice and cloves. STIR CONSTANTLY until the sugars melt over the nuts and caramelizes. After the nuts are coated with the sugar mixture, return them to the baking sheet to cool. The nuts are best after they have thoroughly cooled.
