Turtle Brownie Squares
- 1 box German chocolate cake mix
- 5 oz. can evaporated milk
- 3/4 c. walnuts, roughly chopped (opt.)
- 6 oz. pkg. choc. chips
- 2/3 c. margarine, melted
- 14 oz. pkg. caramels
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- In a medium saucepan melt caramels with 1/2 of the evaporated milk.
- Keep warm.
- In a medium bowl mix dry cake mix, melted margarine, remaining milk, and nuts.
- Spread 1/2 of the dough into an ungreased 9 by 13 inch pan and bake in preheated oven for 6 minutes.
- Remove pan from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the baked cake.
- Drizzle caramel mixture over the chips.
- Drop remaining dough evenly onto caramel layer.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Cool completely.
- Cut into squares and enjoy.
- Because of the milk, this will need to be kept in the refrigerator.
