Chocolate Braid
- 3 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1/4 cups Sugar
- 1/4 ounces, weight Quick Rise Yeast (1 Pkg)
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1/2 cups Milk
- 1/2 cups Butter, Softened
- 1/4 cups Water
- 1 whole Egg

- CHOCOLATE FILLING:
- 3/4 cups Semisweet Chocolate Chips
- 1/3 cups Evaporated Milk
- 2 Tablespoons Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon Powdered Sugar, For Sprinkling On Top
- DOUGH (first 7 ingredients):
- In a bowl, combine 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast and salt. In a saucepan, heat milk, butter and water to 120u0b0-130u0b0. Add to the dry ingredients and beat just until moistened. Add egg and remaining flour; beat until smooth. Shape into a ball. Do not knead. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
- FILLING (next 5 ingredients):
- In a saucepan, combine the chocolate chips, milk and sugar. Cook and stir over low heat until chocolate is melted. Stir in vanilla and cinnamon.
- Roll dough into a 14-in. x 11-in. rectangle on a large greased baking sheet. Spread filling down the center third of the rectangle.
- On each long side, cut 1-in. strips about 3 inches into the center. Starting at one end, fold the strips alternately at an angle across the filling. Pinch ends to seal. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the pan to a wire rack to cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
