Sweet And Spicy Brussels Sprouts
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 2 pounds Brussels Sprouts, Stems Trimmed And Cut In Half
- 5 strips Bacon, Diced
- 4 cloves Garlic, Finely Minced
- 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 Tablespoon Sriracha
- 1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons Black Pepper, Or To Taste
- Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Salt the water and add the Brussels sprouts. Cook for 2 minutes, or until they are bright green, and drain. Run them under cool water. Pat the Brussels sprouts dry and set aside.
- In a large heavy-bottomed skillet. Cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon, leaving the bacon grease in the pan, and transfer the bacon to a paper-towel-lined plate. Lower the heat to medium low, and add the Brussels sprouts and garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the red pepper flakes, Sriracha, soy sauce, brown sugar and a dash of pepper. Stir together and cook for another 4 minutes to heat the sauce through.
- Add the bacon back to the pan and stir. Season the Brussels sprouts to taste. Serve immediately or keep warm in the oven on a low temperature until you are ready to serve. Enjoy!
