Fast And Fabulous Black Forest Cake
- 1 box (18.25 Oz. Box) Dark Chocolate Cake Mix
- 2 cans (19 Oz. Can) Cherry Pie Filling, Divided (Reserve Half For Topping)
- 3 whole Eggs
- 1 Tablespoon Almond Flavoring
- 1 cup Tiny Chocolate Chips (bulk Foods)
- Whipped Cream, To Garnish
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix together cake mix, half of the cherry pie filling, eggs, flavouring and chocolate chips. Beat until well-blended and the cherries are somewhat broken up. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan and bake for about 45 to 50 minutes or until it tests done. Cool slightly then remove to a cake plate to finish cooling.
- Slice and garnish with a generous portion of pie filling, whipped cream and a cherry on top or some of Ree's marvelous chocolate curls.
- Note: there is no oil in the cake, yet it is very moist.
