Apple Pie Sugar Cookie Bars
- 16 ounces, weight Sugar Cookie Mix (Packaged Dough)
- 1 whole Egg
- 1/2 cups Butter, Melted
- 21 ounces, weight Canned Apple Pie Filling
- FOR THE TOPPING:
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- Caramel Sauce, To Serve (optional)
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0F. Grease an 8- to 9-inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sugar cookie mix, egg and melted butter. Mix until dough forms.
- Remove 1 cup of dough and set aside. Take remainder of dough and press evenly into bottom of pan.
- Spread apple pie filling over sugar cookie dough.
- Take the remaining 1 cup of dough and break up into small pieces. Sprinkle on top of apple pie filling.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle on top of dough.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until edges are brown and dough is cooked through. If desired, drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
