Chinese Pork With Vegetables
- 1 lb. lean beef
- 2 Tbsp. salad oil or fat
- 1 beef cube
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. thin sliced carrots
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. french cut green beans
- 2 c. chopped celery
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 1/3 c. cold water
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- cooked rice
- soy sauce (optional)
- Cut meat into strips 2 to 3 inches long and brown in skillet. Turn occasionally.
- While meat is browning, dissolve 1 beef cube into boiling water and salt.
- Add bouillon to meat; over that put carrots and beans.
- Cook 5 minutes; add celery.
- Cook 10 to 15 minutes.
- Measure cornstarch and add cold water and 1 tablespoon soy sauce.
- Stir until well mixed and smooth.
- Then stir into meat mixture.
- Cook for 2 minutes.
- Serve over cooked rice.
- Add soy sauce, if desired.
