English Muffin Bread
- 3 Tablespoons Corn Meal, For Dusting, Divided
- 2-1/2 cups Bread Flour
- 1 package (1/4 Oz. Size) Rapid-rise Yeast
- 1/2 Tablespoons Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 1-1/4 cup 2% Milk, Heated To 120 Degrees
- Lightly grease or spray an 8x4 inch loaf pan and dust with 2 tablespoons cornmeal.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and baking soda.
- Heat milk to 120u0b0F. With mixer on low, slowly pour milk into dry ingredients. Turn mixer up to medium speed, continuing to mix until dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
- Transfer dough to prepared loaf pan, spreading out into all corners. Sprinkle with remaining tablespoon of cornmeal and cover with plastic wrap. Allow to rise in a warm location for 90 minutes.
- Remove plastic prior to baking. Preheat oven to 375u0b0F. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Allow bread to cool in pan before removing to cutting board. Slice, add butter and enjoy!
