Three Pound Fruit Cake(By Bethel Lindsey)

  1. Preheat
  2. oven
  3. to
  4. 275u0b0.
  5. A pan of water placed in oven adds moisture
  6. to
  7. the cake.
  8. Cream butter, add sugar beating well. Add eggs and mix.
  9. Add sifted dry ingredients alternating
  10. with water
  11. or
  12. juice, beating well after each addition. (Hold
  13. in reserve
  14. 1/2
  15. cup flour for dredging fruit and nuts beforetdding to mixture.) Fold in fruit, nuts and molasses. Mix
  16. well.tour into
  17. 9-inch loaf or tube pan which has been greased
  18. and
  19. lined with
  20. wax paper.
  21. Bake at 275u0b0 for 2 to 3 hours.
