Tarheel Pie
- 1/2 cups Butter, Melted
- 1 cup Chocolate Chips, Divided
- 1/2 cups Flour
- 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cups White Sugar
- 2 whole Eggs, Beaten
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Chopped Pecans
- 1/2 cups Flaked Coconut
- 1 whole 9-inch Deep Dish Pie Crust
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0F.
- In a large bowl, pour melted butter over 3/4 cup chocolate chips. Stir until all the chips are melted and chocolate is smooth.
- In a separate bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar and white sugar. Stir into the butter/chocolate mixture. Mix well. Stir in the eggs and the vanilla. Fold in the pecans, coconut and remaining chocolate chips.
- Pour into pie crust. Bake 40 minutes. Check to see if it is set; you may need to bake it an additional 5 minutes. The top should be set and may crack slightly. Do not over-bake. It is better if slightly under-baked.
