Lasagna
- 8 oz. lasagna noodles
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 c. finely chopped celery
- 3/4 c. finely chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tsp. dried oregano, crushed
- 8 oz. tomato sauce (Ragu)
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, cubed
- 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 c. shredded Gouda cheese
- 1 (12 oz.) carton cream-style cottage cheese
- 1 slightly beaten egg
- 12 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 tsp. Italian herb seasoning
- In a large saucepan, cook lasagna noodles according to package directions.
- Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef, sausage, celery, onion and garlic until meat is brown and vegetables are tender.
- Drain off fat from skillet.
- Stir in oregano, pepper and cream cheese.
- Cook and stir over low heat to melt cheese.
- Gradually add Cheddar and Gouda cheeses, stirring and heating until cheeses are nearly melted.
- Add tomato sauce and stir.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir together cottage cheese and egg.
