Turkey A La King
- 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. oleo
- 1 c. sliced mushroom
- 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. flour
- 1 packet low sodium instant chicken broth
- 1/2 c. skim milk
- 1 lb. cooked and skinned turkey breast, boned 1 1/2 inch cubed
- 1 c. frozen green peas, thawed
- 1/2 c. diced pimentos
- 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. hickory smoked liquid
- 1/2 tsp. crushed rosemary leaves
- 4 (1 oz.) buttermilk biscuits, cut into quarters
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
- In large ovenproof skillet, heat oleo until bubbly.
- Add mushroom and saute 2 minutes.
- Stir in flour then gradually whisk in broth and milk.
- Dissolve broth, 1/2 cup hot water.
- Cook, stirring until thickened.
- Fold in remaining ingredients except biscuits.
- Remove from heat.
- Border turkey mixture with biscuits.
- Bake about 15 minutes or until biscuits are golden.
- Makes 4 servings.
