Blue Ribbon Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Heat oven to 375F. Mix butter, shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla thoroughly.
  2. Stir dry ingredients together; then add to the butter mixture and mix in. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  3. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough about 2" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until just barely browned. Cookies should still be a bit soft.
  4. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet.
  5. (I'm not really sure how many this makes. Probably around 2 to 3 dozen cookies. Depends on how much cookie dough is eaten!)
