The Only Chocolate Chip Cookie
- 1 cup Butter, Softened
- 1 cup Brown Sugar (I Like The Dark Stuff)
- 1 cup White Sugar
- 2 whole Eggs
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
- 2 cups Flour
- 2 cups Oatmeal (whole Oats)
- 8 ounces, weight Chocolate Bar
- 12 ounces, weight Semisweet Chocolate Chips
- Cream butter and sugars together in a large mixing bowl using a wooden spoon. Add eggs. Stir in salt, baking powder, baking soda, vanilla, and flour until well combined.
- Place oatmeal and chocolate bar in a blender or food processor; blend until chocolate is chopped into small pieces. Add the oat and chocolate mixture to the cookie dough along with chocolate chips. Stir to combine.
- Roll dough into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees F; do not overbake.
- These freeze very well; my little brothers always preferred them frozen, and my friends always knew to search the freezer if they wanted a cookie!
