Red Wine Cake
- 2-1/8 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
- 2 sticks Butter
- 1-1/8 cup Sugar
- 4 whole Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 2 Tablespoons Dutch Cocoa
- 1-1/8 cup Red Wine
- 5 ounces, weight Semi-sweet Chocolate
- Preheat oven to 320 degrees.
- In a bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder. Set aside.
- Put the butter in a separate bowl and beat until fluffy. Then add the eggs, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and the dutch cocoa and beat again until smooth. Then beat the flour-baking powder mixture in and also the red wine.
- Mix the chopped chocolate carefully into the batter.
- Pour the batter into a greased pan and bake for about 50 minutes.
- Glaze with molten chocolate if you like and sprinkle some sugar sprinkles over the cake before cooling.
