“The Treat”

  1. Preheat oven according to package directions on the crescent rolls.
  2. Place brie in the center of a 9-inch round cake pan or oven-safe dish. I prefer to trim the rind from the cheese before this step, but it can be left on according to your preference.
  3. Roll crescent rolls according to package directions and arrange around cheese, filling the extra space in the pan. There's no need to be artful about it-just squeeze 'em in however they'll fit!
  4. Sprinkle a thin layer of brown sugar over the top of the entire pan. The amount may be altered depending on how sweet you want the dessert, but it should cover both the rolls and the cheese.
  5. Bake according to the crescent roll directions, or until rolls are puffy and cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
  6. If your occasion is casual, it may be eaten straight out of the pan, with forks (as is traditional!). In a less intimate setting, it may be cut into wedges and served on individual plates. If using the latter method, be sure each serving includes an adequate amount of cheese.
