Caramel Macchiato Cupcakes
- 1 box White Or Vanilla Cake Mix
- 1/4 cups Espresso Or Strongly Brewed Coffee
- 2 drops Brown Food Coloring (optional)
- 1 cup Vanilla Frosting Or Glaze
- 1/2 cups Caramel Sauce
- 1. Prepare cake mix according to box directions or use a homemade cake mix if you prefer.
- 2. Pour half of the cake mix into cupcake tins (filling each just over 1/4 of the way full).
- 3. Add coffee to the rest of the cake mix and stir until well combined. You can also add some brown food coloring if you want to make the cake a darker brown.
- 4. Pour brown cake mix on top of the white until the tins are about 3/4 of the way full.
- 5. Bake according to box directions, or about 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
- 6. Once cupcakes have cooled, frost with vanilla frosting or glaze and drizzle caramel sauce on top.
- Since I didn't have any frosting on hand, I made a buttercream glaze with 4 cups of powdered sugar, 1/4 cup of milk, 2 teaspoons of vanilla, and 1/2 cup of soft butter.
