Banana Date Scones
- 2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 4 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 2 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 3 whole Well-Ripened Bannans, Mashed
- 1 whole Egg
- 2/3 cups Cream
- 8 ounces, weight Dates, Pitted And Chopped
- Preheat oven to 450.
- Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl and set aside.
- Mix bananas, egg, and cream in another bowl.
- In a small bowl, mix chopped dates with 2 Tbsp. of flour mixture to coat and separate dates.
- Pour banana mixture over flour mixture and mix gently until just combined. Add dates and and mix 10 times. Mixture will be slightly sticky and lumpy.
- Place 1/4 cups mounds mixture onto greased or lined baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Toothpick inserted into center should come out clean.
- Serve warm with butter, cream cheese, or clotted cream.
