Old Fashioned New York Style Cheese Cake
- 2 c. graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
- 1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 4 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla (no imitation)
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 (16 oz.) container sour cream
- Preheat oven to 450u0b0.
- Let cheese reach room temperature. Melt butter; mix butter, 2 tablespoons sugar and graham crackers together.
- Put in bottom of 9-inch spring pan, place in freezer until mixture is completed.
- In a separate bowl mix together cream cheese and 1 cup sugar until reaches a smooth texture.
- Mix in eggs, vanilla, cornstarch and sour cream.
- When smooth, pour mixture into spring pan.
- You may bake now either in water or just in spring pan.
- Bake at 450u0b0 for 15 minutes, turn oven down to 250u0b0, bake additional 45 minutes.
- Shut oven off, let cake sit 3 hours inside.
- Place in fridge at least 8 hours prior to serving.
