Creamy Brazilian Hot Cocoa
- 3 cups Milk
- 1/2 cups Sweetened, Condensed Milk
- 4 Tablespoons 100% Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1 Shot Espresso (optional)
- Heat milk over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes. Add condensed milk and stir for 2-3 minutes (preferably with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula). Add cocoa powder and keep on stirring.
- Meanwhile, melt chocolate chips in the microwave. Add to the hot milk and stir constantly to prevent the chocolate from sticking to the pan, about 10-12 minutes.
- When the hot cocoa is creamy, remove from heat and add the espresso shot and stir briefly before serving (optional).
- Serve with your favorite garnishes, such as marshmallows, whipped cream, a drizzle of white chocolate (for a tasty and interesting contrast), or a cinnamon stick stirrer.
