Applesauce Bread

  1. Mix together the dry ingredients. Add the wet ingredients, mixing well. Then fold in the apple and nuts if you are using them. Pour into 2 greased loaf pans. If desired, sprinkle cinnamon sugar (liberally) over the top of the bread before baking.
  2. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour and 15 minutes. (Check it a few minutes early.)
  3. Note: This recipe was supposed to be pumpkin bread, but I used unsweetened apple sauce instead of 2 cups pumpkin. I also tossed in a chopped-up apple. A mashed banana would probably be a great alternative as well!
