Sausage And Grits Casserole
- 1 pound Bulk Sausage
- 3 whole Eggs
- 1 cup Milk
- Salt And Pepper
- 1/4 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 1/4 teaspoons Lawry's Seasoning Salt
- 3 cups Grits, Cooked To A Stiff Consistency
- 5 Tablespoons Butter, Unsalted
- 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese, Divided
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cook sausage and break it up into small pieces during cooking. Whisk eggs, milk and seasonings into a large bowl. Add grits, butter, and 1 cup of the shredded cheese. Mix till all ingredients are incorporated.
- When the sausage is done, drain and put in a 9 x 9 pan. Top with grits mixture, spreading out to the sides and all over the sausage. Don't stir the sausage into the mixture. Top with the remaining shredded cheese and bake for 1 hour.
- Can be served with fruit, pancakes or waffles.
