Sausage And Grits Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cook sausage and break it up into small pieces during cooking. Whisk eggs, milk and seasonings into a large bowl. Add grits, butter, and 1 cup of the shredded cheese. Mix till all ingredients are incorporated.
  3. When the sausage is done, drain and put in a 9 x 9 pan. Top with grits mixture, spreading out to the sides and all over the sausage. Don't stir the sausage into the mixture. Top with the remaining shredded cheese and bake for 1 hour.
  4. Can be served with fruit, pancakes or waffles.
