Porch-Sitting Iced Tea For Grown Ups
- 1 gallon Water
- 9 bags Black Tea (Luzianne Is Best)
- __
- 2 cups Water
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1 bunch Mint
- 1 bottle Jack Daniels Or Bourbon
- 1. Bring gallon of water to a boil, drop in tea bags. Remove from heat and leave to steep. When steeped to taste, put in fridge to cool.
- 2. Place water and sugar in a sauce pan, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring to ensure the sugar dissolves and the syrup becomes clear. Chop up about half the bunch of mint and place it in the syrup. Put in fridge to cool.
- 3. When you're ready to drink, pour a few fingers of JD into a tall glass, top off with iced tea, and sweeten to taste with mint syrup. Garnish with a mint stem - it looks pretty, makes a great stirrer, and adds more soft mint flavor to the yumminess.
- 4. Sit on the porch on a summer afternoon, enjoy your grown up iced tea, and reeeelaaax.
